Remote Monitoring and Machine Intelligence for Health Care

This research initiative will develop fundamental building blocks for the analysis of digital biomarkers in healthcare applications. It will focus on developing modular and adaptive algorithms and tools that use sensory observation and measurement data and healthcare records to extract actionable information for effective and timely interventions. Recent developments in the Internet of Things (IoT) combined with the growing adoption of wearable devices provide an unprecedented opportunity to collect and process data from living and working environments and vital body signals in (near-) real-time. These new forms
of continuous data have the potential to transform remote and in-home monitoring for long-term conditions such as dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions, traumatic brain injury and ageing-associated comorbidities.
