I-X to host Fetch.ai Hackathon

We are excited to announce that our Business Partner, Fetch.ai, is organising a Hackathon for PhD students at Imperial College London. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to build their own AI-application solution using Fetch.ai’s AI agents. The Hackathon will be hosted by I-X (White City Campus) on 30 November and 1 December.

About Fetch.ai

Fetch.ai’s vision is to create a marketplace of dynamic applications and AI Agents. We are empowering developers to build on our platform, which can connect services and APIs without any domain knowledge. Our infrastructure enables ‘search and discovery’ and ‘dynamic connectivity’. It offers an open, modular, UI agnostic, self-assembling of services.

Fetch.ai’s Ecosystem is built on four key components:

  • uAgents – AI Agents are independent decision-makers who connect to the network and other agents seamlessly using uagents python package. These agents can represent data, APIs, services, ML models and people. Agents can carry out transactions using their wallets.
  • Agentverse – serves as an agent management, development and hosting platform for these agents. Other users of agentverse can also access the service provided by your agent by reading its description and use cases.
  • AI Engine – enables humans to interact with the dynamic agent marketplace using natural language to execute the objective. It can use multiple agents to accomplish a given objective.
  • Fetch Network – underpins the entire system, ensuring smooth operation and integration.

What is agent technology?

Fetch.ai is developing a platform to enable the development of an AI-empowered decentralised digital economy. Agents are programs that can make choices on their own for individuals, companies, and devices. Agents are the actors and the heart of the Fetch.ai’s ecosystem.

Agents are flexible problem solvers, capable of not just completing tasks but also tackling difficult issues across several domains  based on real-time data. Agents have the adaptability to handle different activities inside the decentralised economy, whether it’s improving supply chain logistics, maintaining solid record-keeping systems, executing computational tasks, or enabling buying and selling interactions. They might even book a hotel room for you or even send a birthday gift to your friend even if you forget about it.

We couple agents with AI-Engine, the AI system that understands human input and turns that into actionable events empowered by agents in the network. AI-engine is an intelligence system which creates dynamic agent workflows. Agentverse offers agent hosting, and the Fetch Network provides an open layer of trust.

Hackathon details

During the hackathon, participants will be tasked with building their own AI application with Fetch.ai’s uAgents. The best three teams will be awarded prizes for best agent use case, smartest AI agent, and beyond boundaries AI Agent.

To get hackers acquainted with the Fetch.ai technology, all participants will be invited to join for an online technical workshop one week before the hackathon. Two additional workshops shall be presented during the hackathon.

Please note that real industry challenges will be provided near the deadline.

The hackathon is open to Imperial PhD students. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at ix-contact@imperial.ac.uk
